The v0idspace was made as a love-letter and homage to one of my favorite websites i frequented as a kid.

Startsiden.no.

For you, this does not look like much at all, but for me, this website is everything.
This website was started all the way back in 1998 and was one of may startpages you could find on the norwegian side of the internet. My grandmother of all people showed me this website, because you could go to to one of the many links to play online games. Many hours were spent sitting on her little laptop in the livingroom, and many more were spent doing the same on my grandfathers old computer in the basement, next to his thick dusty medical books.

My favorite was SOL barn, (scandinavia online) which was a website where you could play all sorts of cute java and shockwave games. I always had to go trough startsiden in order to get to my games, so this site became stamped in my brain. Trough this website, i found more. It became a gateway to everything else.

As time passed, they updated the layout, as websites do. More stuff was left out, more websites were taken offline, more games stopped working, and soon, i had forgotten about that part of my life.

Recently, after browsing the internet archive, getting tired of doomscrolling the modern internet, archiving games to Flashpoint archive, and drowning in an endless ocean of nostalgia, i decided to use Startsiden as a base, and build upon it. My homepage is a tribude to it, the old web of the past, to all the things i love and lost, and to the silenced creative voices flowing in the winds of centuries past.
